Optimizing Image Selection with the BrightEarth Search Tool
Find the Best Imagery from Airbus and Maxar with Advanced Customization Options
The image search tool allows users to automatically curate a list of best image selection options from Airbus and Maxar Online imagery for a user-defined area and date range. By default, the search is run on available mono images from the 3 last months, but the user may specify to run this search for Stereo imagery and on differents timeframe ( as well as to return combined options for both mono and stereo.)
If the user wishes, they can further refine their search to specific sensors, resolution, nadir angles and maximum cloud cover allowed.
The best image or images selected for the user-defined area is firstly based on the coverage they provide, then the most recently available images within the user-defined time frame, and finally the best possible cloud cover. Coverage has a high preference, and thus images with the best overall coverage are chosen so as to allow users to avoid unnecessary mosaicking. However, if a single cloud-free image is unavailable, multiple images will be returned to ensure full, cloud-free coverage. If full coverage is not attained, the search parameters are relaxed and images are returned to fill in for incomplete areas.
Sometimes, the image search shows a red result, indicating that no images exactly matching your criteria were found. In this case, the tool presents the image that most closely fits your criteria from the available options.
If one of the displayed images doesn’t meet your expectations, you can exclude it by clicking the two arrows on the right. This will remove the image from the results and allow you to search again for a better match.
