Uploading Custom Images to BrightEarth

Use Your Own Data for Cost-Effective and Trusted Image Extractions

watch this video on youtube

BrightEarth users can upload their own images to the system with a simple drag-and-drop action within the interface.

The uploaded image must be in the AOI of your project.

If you already own some imagery, this tool allows you to work on your own data.

Uploading your own image has a double advantage; it allows you to work on data you trust, and, in the meantime, it reduces the cost of the extraction.

Accepted images must be in GeoTIFF format and must include georeferencing and projection information. They also need to be orthorectified.

The images should have a minimum of 3 bands: Red, Green, and Blue (in that order). A fourth Near Infrared (NIR) band is allowed, but it won’t be used by our detectors.

Images can be encoded in either 8-bit or 16-bit formats.

The pixel size must not exceed 70 cm, as larger pixels will not produce accurate results with our detectors. Ideally, the resolution should range between 30 cm and 50 cm.

Higher resolution images are accepted, but will be downsampled to 30 cm before being processed.

Uploaded images are accessible only to the account holder and site administrators. They are managed according to the privacy standards outlined in BrightEarth’s terms & conditions.
